Bupropion hcl & Allergies—Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to bupropion. Also tell your health care professional if you are allergic to any other substances, such as foods, preservatives, or dyes.
- Bupropion hcl & Pregnancy—Studies have not been done in pregnant women. Bupropion has not been reported to cause birth defects or other problems in animal studies. Before taking this medicine, make sure your doctor knows if you are pregnant or if you may become pregnant.
- Bupropion hcl & Breast feeding—Bupropion passes into breast milk. Because it may cause unwanted effects in nursing babies, use of bupropion is not recommended during breast-feeding.
- Bupropion hcl for Children—This medicine has been tested in a very small number of patients 6 to 16 years of age and has not been shown to cause different side effects or problems in children than it does in adults. More testing is needed to decide whether bupropion is safe and effective for use in children.
- Older adults—Bupropion hcl medicine has been tested in a limited number of patients 60 years of age and older and has not been shown to cause different side effects or problems in older people than it does in younger adults.
- Other medicinesBupropion hcl &—Although certain medicines should not be used together at all, in other cases two different medicines may be used together even if an interaction might occur. In these cases, your doctor may want to change the dose, or other precautions may be necessary. When you are taking bupropion, it is especially important that your health care professional know if you are taking any of Medications.
Bupropion hcl may cause side effects: Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away: drowsiness, restlessness, excitement, anxiety, dry mouth, difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep, dizziness, headache, upset stomach, vomiting, tremor, weight loss, constipation,
excessive sweating.
Bupropion hcl may cause some side effects can be serious : The following symptoms are uncommon, but if you experience any of them, call your doctor immediately: seizure, confusion, seeing things or hearing voices that do not exist (hallucinating), irrational fears, fever, severe skin rash, itching, hives, swelling of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs, hoarseness,
difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest pain, muscle or joint pain, rapid, pounding, or irregular heartbeat.
Bupropion hcl may cause other side effects. Call your doctor if you have any unusual problems while taking this medication.
IMPORTANT WARNING :—
Bupropion hcl may cause seizures when taken in large doses. Take bupropion hcl in divided doses three or four times daily to minimize the risk of seizures. Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had seizures, brain tumors, head injuries, or an eating disorder or are taking anti-psychotics, tranquilizers or other antidepressants.
In case of overdose, call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222. If the victim has collapsed or is not breathing, call local emergency services at 911.
If these or other than these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor.
